'Joro' is an exquisite orange flowered Hybrid Tea rose that provides fragrance throughout the season. Hybrid Tea roses are the successors to the Hybrid Perpetuals. With their freely produced flowers and long flowering season from mid-summer, they are possibly the best loved roses, equal in popularity with Floribundas and Modern Shrub Roses. They are excellent as cut flowers. They thrive in full sun or partial shade in well drained fertile soil. Most are prone to pests and disease and must be protected from these. They are hardy deciduous shrubs with strong prickly stems. The flowers are mostly double although some single forms exist and some are richly scented. HOW TO PLANT: Remove packaging and soak the roots in water for atleast 2 hours before planting. Remove any damaged or broken stems before planting. Plant in good quality compost ensuring the hole is large enough to accommodate the roots without causing damage. Spread the roots evenly and cover with soil. Firm down by lightly treading on the soil, and water in well. It is advisable to add mulch after planting. Keep the plants free from weeds and well-watered. Since bush roses are repeat bloomers it is recommended that you use a rose feed atleast once during the season. Dead head regularly to encourage new growth. Pruning is essential to the health of the rose and encourages new shoots to grow. The best time to prune roses is early spring before the growth starts.
