Product description EXTRA VALUE KIT You are looking at our bio-ring filter upgrade kit which gives you additional Biological filtration and also allows you to choose a gravel of your choice rather than the Ceramic Media that the manufacturer supply. We recommend a gravel no smaller than 3mm in size We have run these in a marine tank with coral gravel, a planted tank pea gravel and a cold water keeping the original ceramic media. They will fit all models old and new or all sizes. Trimming may be required to fit the smaller models (15litre versions) You will receive: 1 x Beige/white Upgrade biO-ring, 1 x Service kit refill, 1 Air stone and a cleaning pad. ***Please note NO gravel or aquarium will be supplied but is for illustration purposes only*** Instructions:- If setting up from scratch: Simply sleeve the bio-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding ceramic media or a gravel of your choice. We recommend a gravel size of 3mm and up. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. These should be replaced every 12-18 months. Adding to a running aquarium: Simply gravel clean as normal to remove debris from the base of your. Remove the ceramic media to enable you to sleeve the upgrade bio-ring over the outside of the filter housing prior to adding the original ceramic media back or your choice of new gravel. To clean we suggest using your gravel gleaner and push it into the foam to extract any trapped particles. You may want to remove the fish prior to adding the washed clean gravel. These should be replaced every 12-18 months.
