• OUTDOOR PLANTING: Sow seeds thinly 2.5cm deep direct in growing bed in rows 12” (30cm) apart. Keep the soil moist, and be careful not to over-water.
• When large enough to handle thin to 4” (10cm) apart. Twist off the leaves to prevent bleeding. Ideal for successional sowing. Protect young seedlings from birds using netting. Keep well-watered in dry conditions.
• SCIENTIFIC NAME: Beta Vulgaris. Produces delicious deep purple, spherical roots which are at their tenderest harvested just larger than a goofball. The leaves can also be picket sparingly as a tasty spinach substitute.
• Best grown in fertile, free-draining soil in full sun. It is easy to grow, very reliable and has rich crimson globe-shaped roots with the wonderful earthy sweet beetroot flavour.

A wounderful Beetroot to grow early. It has a great flavour and a good resistance to ‘bolting’. Ideal for freezing. Boil in salted water, and when cooled the skin can be removed by gently rubbing.
