Product Description Suttons seeds broad beans karmazyn seed is an unusual pink-seeded variety, a must for anyone looking for something different. This compact-growing broad bean will produce a bountiful crop of tasty and colourful beans. Sowing and growing - sow direct into soil prepared by digging and raking at a depth of 50 mm, spacing the seeds 20 cm apart. Best sown alternately (see illustration) in double rows allowing 23 cm between the lines forming each row. Allow 60-90 cm between further rows. (Germination 7-14 days.) can also be sown in pots or trays of compost on a windowsill or in a greenhouse for eventual planting outside. Grows best in a sheltered site, but not shaded, in well drained soil. Pinching out tips helps to prevent attacks of blackfly. Sowing - cropping - 15 weeks.
