The banana trees commercially brown are a dwarf variety that will probably grow to a height of one metre in your home. Banana trees like a lot of light and will feel happy in a place close to a window in your home or conservatory. Their large tropical leaves mean they like moisture and high temperatures. In summer you can move the plant outside providing the night temperature is above 13°C, but the ideal temperature for dwarf banana trees is between 15°C and 30°C. Dwarf banana trees love loads of water. Give your plant some houseplant fertiliser once every two weeks to make sure that its leaves will retain their fresh green colour and it will continue to grow. One of the showiest plants for the summer garden, this banana grows very fast.
