If you reject this offer from the space operator, you may be denied access to shore power. Compliance with the above guidelines is especially important for insurance reasons. For example, too small cable cross-sections can lead to a fire due to excessive current loading. If damage occurs due to inadmissible cables on your caravan or on the campsite, the insurance cover expires and you must be liable for the damage yourself as well as take over the costs. Considering the safety in terms of handling electricity, the use of electrical products with a cable length is not less than 1.5 m. This cable length allows e.g. B. extension cable to a higher wall socket or feed socket and place the cable with the coupling on the floor. The advantage is that after connecting a consumer, no tensile load is created on the connection between plug and coupling. In addition, the feed plug is not charged. Pull on these two connections should always be avoided, as loose contact connections can cause socket fires in the worst case. Short circuits can also cause damage to the connected devices.
