What is a PRCD-S? Portable residual current device safety (PRCD-S) is called portable residual current protection devices with protective conductor detection or protective conductor monitoring. They are used to protect people from electric accidents and are connected between an electrical consumer, such as a power tool, and an electrical outlet like an extension cord. How does a PRCD-S work? When trying to turn on the PRCD-S, the wiring of the supply line is checked. The PRCD-S can only be switched on if the wiring is correct.
