This watercolour paper is made from long fibres made from 100% rag. This allows it to absorb a lot of water without warping or bleeding the colours. It is glued to the core with natural gelatin so it can be scraped without tearing or fibres. This inner glue also prevents paint from penetrating into the paper, allowing light to fall through the pigment and be reflected off the white paper, while ensuring the ageing resistance of the colours.
