A softer and thicker wool Tartan Travel Rug this blanket is in the Antique Buchanan Tartan. It is not as soft as the Lambswool or Cashmere but is more suitable for everyday use on a sofa or chair. Some customers have bought them for their (very lucky) dogs! Machine washable only on a cool or wool wash. About the tartan: For close on 700 years the lands of Buchanan on the east side of Loch Lomond were possessed by the Buchanans. The clan historian claims that the lands of Buchanan were given to the chief, for his services against the Danes, by King Malcolm II. They supported King Robert the Bruce during the War of Independence and also fought at the battles of Flodden, Pinkie and Langside.
