The problem: Wasps (e.g., Vespula spp.) are an inconvenience to outdoor living. Attracted to food and drink, they frequently disrupt dinners and other outdoor activities. Wasps can also be an annoyance to honey bees, preying on them or, more crucially, robbing colonies of honey. The product: Trapping adult wasps notifies users to the pest's existence and helps decide whether additional control measures are required. Andermatt Liquid Wasp Attractant can be used in any wasp trap. Trapping individual foraging wasps prevents them from sharing information about your position (and your food source) with their colony, which could have increased the number of wasps attracted to you. Wasp traps can be used all year, however wasps are most usually a pest from August to October. Position the black legs based on whether they are supposed to be hanging or free-standing. Unscrew the top and pour in 200 ml of liquid wasp attractant (Note: Liquid attractant is not included and must be purchased separately; Andermatt recommends Andermatt Liquid Wasp Attractant, which contains a bee deterrent to assist avoid collecting garden-friendly helpful pollinators). Position the trap such that it is easily visible, and wasps can enter freely through the funnel opening at the bottom. When hanging, hang the trap 2 - 3 metres above the ground. When free-standing, place the trap 1 - 3 meters above the ground. Check the trap once a week. Empty and replenish the liquid attractant as needed. At the end of the season, remove any contents, rinse, and store the trap away from light and frost for future use. The product includes two wasp traps that can be hung or used free-standing.
