Historical Background The Jagdpanther V was created to combine the superior 8.8 cm Pak 43 with the armour and mobility of the Panther chassis. Development began in 1939, matured in 1942 with Panther components and went into series production at MIAG in 1943. From January 1944 until the end of the war, 413 vehicles were created (MIAG 268 | MNH 112 | MBA 33). First used in the summer of 1944, the Jagdpanther proved itself in battles such as the Ardennes Offensive (December 1944), where he was able to take off Allied tanks from a great distance. Despite its performance, the small quantities prevented a strategic influence - but for historians and model makers, it remains a milestone of German tank hunting technology.
