Ampersand Art Supply's Museum Series Claybord is made from our premium warp-resistant 1/8" profile FSC-Certified Hardbord that is sealed and protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal and coated with an ultra-smooth, highly absorbent acid-free kaolin clay ground that is perfect for mixed media. The surface is sanded to an ULTRA-smooth, highly absorbent finish so your paint colors remain true and brilliant. The unique clay surface allows for unlimited techniques – etching, erasing, reworking, adding color and scratching it away to add contrast, texture, and fine details. Claybord is perfect for many fine art uses including pigmented and alcohol inks, gouache, egg tempera, acrylic, airbrush, graphite, pencil, pen, watercolor, casein, collage, scratch board and mixed media. Your final artwork on Claybord can even be sealed and displayed without glass.
