Product description Allgood Farm Ficus and Rubber Plant Expert Potting Mix is rich in nutrients and designed for the balanced moisture levels ficus species prefer. Ficus species, commonly known as figs, can be rewarding to grow as houseplants, offering a lush, tropical aesthetic with their beautiful foliage. They come in many varieties, including large fiddle-leafs (Ficus lyrata), more delicate weeping figs (Ficus benjamina) and the ever popular rubber plant (Ficus elastica) which itself comes in a huge range of colours and variegated styles. Anyone who's kept a ficus for any length of time knows they can be picky customers. They all have slightly different light requirements, and some varities are incredibly sensitive, even dropping all their leaves if you dare to move them from a favoured position. One thing they have in common though, is needing a good well-draining but moist soil mix. That might sound like a tough balancing act, and it is, but we reckon our soil mix gets it just right. We use a mix of nutritious compost and coco coir, along with sand and perlite to aid drainage. To this we add vermiculite, bark and biochar, all of which help to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and slow-release water and nutrients to your ficus. *When available, we include a free sample of one of our home-grown nutrient boosts with orders over 3 litres.
