Two adjustable stainless steel worm-drive clamps secure the larger and smaller ends independently. The flexible construction helps accommodate minor surface variation and small alignment differences, making the adaptor practical for drainage repairs, alterations, extensions and transitions between legacy and modern pipe systems. Before ordering, measure the outside diameter of both pipes rather than relying only on their nominal size, as older clay pipe dimensions can vary. For installation, make sure both pipe ends are sound, clean and cut square. Loosen the clamps, slide the larger end over the clay pipe and the smaller end over the plastic pipe, centre the adaptor across the joint and tighten both clamps evenly with a screwdriver, nut driver or suitable socket.
