Product description Whether you’re a bird breeder, pet owner, or enthusiast, determining your bird’s gender is an important part of responsible care. With our Avian DNA Test Kit, you can easily find out your bird’s sex from the comfort of your home - no need for expensive vet visits or unreliable visual checks. This DNA test is designed to work on any bird species, from common pet birds like parrots, budgies, and cockatiels, to more exotic or rare species such as toucans, raptors, or macaws. Collect a small feather with quills sample or a few drops of blood following the provided instructions, then return the sample using the included materials. Our certified laboratory will analyse the DNA and results will be emailed in just a few business days after receipt. ✔ Trusted, Proven, and Convenient ✔ Over 99% accuracy ✔ Non-invasive and safe ✔ Fast and confidential results ✔ Suitable for all ages and bird types ✔ Backed by experienced DNA technicians Results are available within 5 working days from receipt of the samples at the laboratory. The avian DNA testing services are intended solely for informational and personal use. Results are based on the sample provided and the quality of that sample. Improper sample collection, contamination, or degradation can affect the outcome of the test. Avian DNA testing does not diagnose or screen for diseases, health conditions, or genetic defects. It should not be used as a substitute for professional veterinary care or advice. Directions OPTION 1: Feather Sample (Preferred for Non-Invasive Collection) 1. Label the Bag: Write the submitter’s name, bird species, and a Bird ID (e.g., name, band, or cage number) on the bag provided. Use the same Bird ID on the submission form to match results correctly. 2. Collect Feathers: Pluck 3 feathers with quills from the bird’s chest, tail, or wing (5–10 cm long). For small birds, collect 4–5 feathers. Do not use fallen feathers - they must be freshly plucked. Avoid touching the base of the feathers. 3. Store the Feathers: Place feathers into the labelled bag. The bag should contain feathers from only one bird. 4. Complete the Form: Fill in the Avian DNA Sexing Submission Form, including the Bird ID. Send the form and feather samples to us in the provided return envelope. OPTION 2: Blood Sample (For Use When Feather Collection Is Not Possible) - 1. Label the Blood Sample Card: Before collecting the sample, label the card with the submitter’s name, bird species, and a Bird ID (e.g., name, band, or cage number). Use the same Bird ID on the submission form to match results correctly. 2. Collect the Blood Sample: Clean the bird’s toenail if needed. Clip the nail carefully to nick the vein and start blood flow (about 2/3 down the nail). Use sanitized clippers. 3. Apply Blood to the Card: Wipe away the first drop of blood. Then, gently touch the card to the next drops - 1 to 3 drops are enough. You don’t need to fill the circle completely. 4. Let the Card Dry: Let the card air dry for 60–90 minutes on a clean surface. Use the provided bag for the card, and only after it's fully dry. Do not touch the blood spot, and avoid sealing wet cards in plastic to prevent contamination. If bleeding continues, apply a coagulant or household alternatives like flour or cornstarch. 5. Submit the Form and Sample: Complete the Avian DNA Sexing Submission Form, including Bird ID. Place it with the sealed samples in the preaddressed envelope and send to us promptly.

I wrote to Bigamart's customer support and they accompanied the process of reshipping the item until it finally arrived. I felt a genuine effort to solve the problem till it was finally solved.
The package was here in Australia from England in a few days — so quick! Something was missing and they refunded it straight away. Pretty happy with these guys.
