The total number and the combination of the power supply plugs can vary so much depending on the purpose of use, that some manufacturers have drawn a simple but effective consequence: no single cable is permanently installed from the power supply. Optionally, only the undoubtedly always required plugs are permanently installed. For all other plugs there are sockets that are distributed and fitted on the housing. This means that power cables with two plugs are required on such a power supply, because with an 8-pin PCIe connector - as with this cable - there are identical sockets on the housing and on the graphics card. Consequently, the cable has two identical plugs to connect the two identical sockets.
