Make sure the pump is at least 8 inches below the highest water level in your pool. 3. Turn the air valve screw (top) counter-clockwise to release the air suction inside, then put it back clockwise. 4. Connect the power supply ▲Is it determined if the above ground pool filter pump is working properly? First, you should make sure that the pool filter pump is below the above-ground pool water level. Then check if the water hose is full of water, if there is one, this is normal.
