This test will test a stool sample for the presence of Faecal Occult Blood (FOB). FOB is microscopic blood in the faeces that is invisible to the naked eye. The presence of FOB in stools may indicate an early sign of a colorectal disease developing. This pack contains three separate tests, so three different samples can be checked over different days incase one test did not pick up any of the microscopic FOB. To perform the test, use the swab provided to swab a stool sample and then insert the swab into the diluent test tube. Shake up the sample to mix the faeces with the diluent, then the lid of the swab snaps off to become a dropper. Drop 2 drops of mixture into the cassette well and the result will show within seconds. The results are for reference only and do not form the basis of a diagnosis. If a positive result is observed then further tests and advice should be obtained.
