Before You Screw It On – A Quick Compatibility Check This adapter uses S60×6 thread (coarse), designed for ½” coarse threaded IBC outlets. It will not fit fine-thread (buttress) outlets or standard garden tap threads. Compare your IBC’s thread pattern with the product images before fitting – a mismatch leads to leaks or cross-threading. Installation Tips Hand-tighten only. Over-tightening with pliers can crack the plastic collar or damage the sealing ring. If a slow drip appears, wrap the male thread with one layer of PTFE tape – never two. The black plastic is UV-stabilised but becomes slightly brittle below 5°C. Warm the adapter with tap water before fitting on a frosty morning. Not for Drinking Water This adapter is suitable for rainwater, grey water, and irrigation only. Not certified for potable water systems. Maintenance Disconnect and rinse the sealing ring every six months. Debris trapped under the ring causes invisible drips.
