Saint-Gobain Fine Casting Plus is a premium-grade plaster specifically formulated for fine casting applications. The product is mined in the UK and comes from Saint Gobain in 25kg sacks. It is packaged into other pack quantities in the UK by Leaf Crafts Ltd (Trustleaf). The shelf life of the product is 9 months from the date of purchase with the exception of the 25 kg sacks which is 6-9 months depending on the date of manufacture (printed on the side of the bag). Fine Casting Plus is pretty much identical to Saint Gobain Formula Fine Casting Plaster except that the resulting model is slightly harder, with superior fine detail, an extended work time, and an extended shelf life. We now no longer supply the Fine Casting product. Acrylic paints can be used to either paint after casting or to mix with the water prior to casting to give colour throughout the model. Use of additives like acrylic polymer can greatly increase the strength and provide water resistance / waterproofing to a model. It also gives a shiny slightly glossy finish.
