Product description
Scilla bifolia 'Blue', commonly known as Alpine Squill or Two-leaf Squill, is a hardy early-spring flowering bulb that produces clusters of star-shaped blue flowers on short stems. Blooming as early as late winter, it provides one of the season’s first bursts of colour—often before other bulbs have emerged. Reaching just 4 to 6 inches in height, Scilla bifolia is ideal for naturalising in lawns, woodland gardens, along walkways, and under deciduous trees. It spreads gradually, forming soft drifts of blue without becoming invasive. The narrow, green foliage fades after flowering, feeding the bulbs for the next season. This bulb thrives in moist, well-drained soil and performs well in full sun to partial shade. Scilla bifolia is cold hardy, deer and rabbit resistant, and loved by early-season pollinators like bees. Once planted, it requires very little care and reliably returns year after year. Planting Instructions: Plant bulbs 2 to 3 inches deep and 2 to 4 inches apart from September to November. Water after planting and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
