Finally, after two years of deliberation the IOC chose London to hold the 30th Games. We are one of only five countries to have competed every year. Only Australia, France, Greece and Switzerland share that distinction. The purpose-built athletics stadium will stand in east London on a 500 acre site in Stratford just seven minutes from central London.
