The dense application of the grey scatter will give you a mat which gives a realistic effect when applied to a curved or moulded surface. The crepe paper backing is thicker and pre coloured. Between the flocking and colouring of the backing paper you'll find the mat is impervious to light and hides the underlying sub terrain structure shapes.
